Below are pictures of the woodwork in a 2000 Aston Martin DB7. The effects of UV exposure, heat and time have affected the parts differently. Some parts appear to be in pretty good shape “colorwise”, but are developing hairline cracks in the finish. The console and ashtray changed color differently over time, and the finish on the center vent panel and the radio / temperature control panel turned very “cloudy”. Because each of these conditions affect the veneer on these parts differently, it is essential to refinish all the parts at one time.

Above is an Aston Martin DB7 AFTER we refinished it. Aston Martin offered "carbon fiber" as an option in place of a wood veneer , and like their wood counterparts, the same clear finish was applied. The clear on this set had developed hairline cracks in it...and we Refinished it for our customer |

Above, is a BEFORE picture of the typical set of woodwork we get in for restoraion from Vantage / Volante owners. The ravages of time and exposure are evident. If you look carefully, you can see that there are panels with distinctly different colors which indicates that this vehicle was probably parked facing the same direction for years and various parts have had more exposure to the sun, than others. |

Although this set is from a different car, you can see how the restoration process exposes the original color, and the beautiful contrasts of the original wood grain pattern.

Below is a full set from a 1952 Aston Martin Lagonda. It came to us in “basketcase” condition - The veneer was blistering and peeling off, the finish had seen its’ last days and was non-existent on many parts, and the wooden substructure was cracked and broken. All indications were that it had been poorly restored at least one time before. |

We Repaired and Rebuilt the substructures where necessary, and Reveneered and Refinished the entire set. Our customer was ecstatic ! |

Our Craftsmen got started on the restoration of this Gauge panel before we had a chance to take a picture of it....BUT this picture of the back...is just what the front looked like. The original finish was old, scratched, and milky looking. |
